Leios Protocol
A major research paper contribution towards Cardano scalability was finally published at the end of May, detailing the blockchain protocol Leios that can increase the throughput of both Proof of Work and Proof of Stake protocols. With the research paper two videos was also published one more in general on the topic of scaling, including Leios as well as the L2 solution Hydra. This could potentially be a whiteboard video up there with the now famous Cardano Whiteboard video published some 6 years ago, given the potential impact this could have on Cardano when it goes from research into implementation, both in terms of scaling and its proposed tiered pricing and fee diversity. The other video was specific to the proposed Leios protocol and demonstrates for example how Leios allows lower throughput protocols to operate near networking limits through the concept of input endorsers with Input Blocks, Endorsement Blocks and Ranking Blocks. An excellent article on the topic was recently written by cexplorer.
Intersect News
Intersect the Cardano membership-based organization recently announced they joined the Linux Foundation and as well as Hyperledger. A lot of activity has also happened in the Working Groups within Intersect to focus on open source and Cardano community collaborative development as exemplified by a recent IOG employee X post highlighting the facilitating role Intersect has done in fostering Open Source development and mentioning the Plutus and Consensus teams have working groups on Intersect.
