Hosky token launched on NBX
Hosky Token, the beloved meme token on Cardano, has officially launched on NBX, marking a playful yet significant milestone for the Cardano ecosystem. Known for its lighthearted approach, Hosky has garnered a loyal following since its inception in 2021.
Hosky's journey began as a parody of meme tokens, with no promises of financial returns or groundbreaking technology. Instead, it focused on community engagement and humor, becoming a staple within Cardano circles. Despite its whimsical nature, Hosky found success in raising awareness for Cardano native tokens and driving engagement in the ecosystem.
First CNT/USDM Listing
In a historic move, Hosky Token is the first Cardano Native Token (CNT) to be listed with a USDM trading pair on NBX. This milestone marks a crucial step in expanding the accessibility and liquidity of Cardano native assets, bridging the gap between meme tokens and stablecoin markets. By pioneering this listing, Hosky paves the way for other Cardano projects to gain visibility and utility within the NBX ecosystem.
Governance Contributions
While Hosky prides itself on being ‘the premier low-quality meme token,’ it has indirectly contributed to governance discussions by fostering a strong, engaged community. From hosting meme competitions to supporting local stake pools through the “Rug Pools” program, Hosky has brought joy and engagement to Cardano users worldwide. Examples of its community initiatives include staking pool collaborations, sponsoring events, merchandise giveaways, and now even a summit event the Hosky Summit that will be held in Gdansk in Poland from May 29th to June 1st in 2025. The Hosky logo can be found in as diverse places as wrestling arenas to being placed temporary on Samuel Leathers (Head of Product at IO Engineering) Cowboy Hat or on the tshirt of Trym Bruset (Product Manager at IOHK). Hosky has also been a fan of USDM such as in this tweet and in the memory of Mattthew Plomin of USDM.
