Historically, the Ada North Pool staking pool had a reward of over 4% in its first years, but this has gradually declined, as it has for all other staking pools on the Cardano network. For Ada North Pool, data from cexplorer.io shows a current historical reward of 2.72% (at the time this article was written).
Since these figures are affected by factors that aren't known in advance, such as fees from protocol transactions, simulation is used to estimate future performance. A Monte Carlo simulation, as of when this article was written, suggests a lower estimate of 2.09%, an average of 2.13%, and an upper estimate of 2.18% in reward. Based on this, we now propose an estimated annual reward of approximately 2% going forward.
We will reassess these figures if there are changes to protocol parameters related to staking rewards, or other factors affecting the protocol's reward system, such as collected fees or reserve depletion. We hope for understanding that these are moving variables outside NBX's control, such as transaction fees on the blockchain, and that any reward we communicate will therefore always be an estimate. We will update our estimates periodically based on available data from the blockchain.
